June Elizabeth Stanley Higgs, 85, of Mtn Valley Rd., New Market died April 13, 2012 at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
She was born September 27, 1926 in Page Co. and was the daughter of the late James F. and Mary Elizabeth Duncan Stanley.
She had worked at J.M.U. in housekeeping and was a devoted home maker. She was a member of the Fairview Church of the Brethren near Endless Caverns.
On June 13, 1946 she married Ernest Lee Higgs Jr. who preceded her in death on May 19, 1996.
She is survived by a daughter; Judy Rhodes of Broadway, a son; Dennis Higgs of New Market, grandchildren; Meridith Peele, Jeremy Rhodes, Gail Frye, Brian Higgs, Andrew Higgs, twelve great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Revs. Lewis Armentrout and Archie Webster will conduct a funeral service 11:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Fairview Ch. of the Brethren. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
