Catherine Elizabeth Nesselrodt, 86, of Lacey Spring, died May 1, 2012 at her residence.

She was born February 19, 1926 in Rockingham County, and was a daughter of the late James Samuel Harrison and Minnie Lee Emerson Thompson.

She was a seamstress at H.D. Lee Co. for 19 years. She was a member of Mountain Valley United Methodist Church.

On April 9, 1948 she married Isaac Eston Nesselrodt, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1989.

Surviving are two sons, Randolph Isaac Nesselrodt (Donna) of Penn Laird, Rudolph Eston Nesselrodt of Harrisonburg; one daughter, Joyce Ann Griffith (Dennis) of Salem, VA; one brother, James Thompson, Jr. of Broadway; grandchildren, Michael Eston Nesselrodt (Amy) of Harrisonburg, Kristina Griffith of Salem, Allen Smallwood (Tiffany) of Timberville, Chad Nesselrodt (Brandy) of Harrisonburg; great grandchildren, Joseph Nesselrodt, Amanda Nesselrodt, Caitlyn Griffith-Ulm, Madison Griffith-Ulm, Tyler Showman, Meghan Smallwood.

She was preceded in death by her children, Lonnie Ray Nesselrodt, Ronald Dale Nesselrodt, Janice Lynn Nesselrodt; brother and sisters, Ray Thompson, Rosella Benner, and Mabel Emerson Phillips.

Revs. Valerie Ritter and A.D. Tice will conduct a funeral service 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Mountain Valley United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 P.M. Friday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.

Memorial contributions may be made to Mtn. Valley United Methodist Church, 11583 Mtn. Valley Road, Harrisonburg, VA 22801.
