Robert Franklin Wampler, died June 3, 2012 at Shenandoah Place in New Market.
He was born June 5, 1922 and was a son of the late David Solomon and Nellie Myers Wampler of Broadway.
He is survived by his wife of almost 70 years, Marguerite Wampler, and two daughters; Claranell Robin and Peter Heilmayr of Fort Worth, Texas, and Carolyn Snow and husband Gary Bushong of New Market. Also surviving is one grandson; Geoff Snow, of Harrisonburg.
In honoring his wishes, a private graveside service was held on June 5th, which would have been his 90th birthday, at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.
Arrangements are being handled by the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
