Shirley Bernice Whetzel, 80, of Bergton, VA died June 21, 2012 at her residence.
She was born May 25, 1932 in Fort Seybert, WV, and was a daughter of the late John and Nannie Myers Nesselrodt.
She worked at the Rockingham County Landfill in Bergton.
On January 8, 1955 she married Elmer Loy Whetzel, who preceded her in death June 11, 2009.
She is survived by a daughter, Lisa Gum of Bergton; four sons, Ronald and Jerry Whetzel, both of Bergton, Robert “Bob” Whetzel of Brandywine, WV, Ralph Nesselrodt of Dayton; 13 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Whetzel.
Pastor Kevin Gerber will conduct a graveside service 4:00 P.M. Friday at Caplinger cemetery in Criders.
There will be no viewing or visitation. Arrangements are being handled by Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
