Adam Trefley Wilson Bridgett was born on March 19, 1976, in Massena, New York. He passed away on April 6, 2026, at Life Care Center of New Market, Virginia, surrounded by love.

He spent his early years in Fort Covington, New York, where he built the foundation of the kind, hardworking, and compassionate man so many came to love.

He graduated from Salmon River Central School in 1995 and went on to attend BOCES, where he earned his CNA certification. From a young age, Adam had a heart for helping others, a quality that remained at the center of his life.

During his high school years, Adam worked at Franklin County Nursing Home before making the decision to serve his country by joining the United States Navy. His time in the military took him to different parts of the world and reflected his strength, dedication, and willingness to put others before himself. During his service, he spent a year as a personal chef for President George W. Bush Jr. and later continued his work at Bethesda Medical Center. He also served as a first responder during 9/11.

Adam lived a life of service in every sense. He spent years feeding and caring for others through food service, including work at McDonald's and James Madison University dining services, and most recently at Life Care Center of New Market. No matter where he was, he never stopped showing up for people.

He also gave his time generously through volunteer work. For the past eight years, he was involved with RCFG, and he spent many years volunteering at Doville Farm. In addition, Adam quietly gave his time to many different causes and organizations over the years, always willing to help wherever he was needed.

Outside of his work and service, Adam found joy in the simple, beautiful things in life. He loved his gardens — especially his redbud and dogwood trees — and had a deep appreciation for flowers and nature. He adored his six beloved fur babies, who were a constant source of comfort and companionship.

Adam was one of the most good-hearted souls you could ever meet. He would give anything — do anything — just to help someone else. Funny, a little sassy (okay… a lot  ), and full of life — a whole queen in his own way. Above all, he loved deeply and fiercely, especially his devoted spouse, Jerry.

He is survived by his devoted spouse, Jerry Bridgett; his loving mother, Bonnie Beaudin; his brother, James Wilson; his sister, Christina Brady; his half-siblings, Michael Wilson and Michelle Wilson; his stepbrothers, John Beaudin and David Beaudin; and his siblings-in-law, Travis Bridgett, Brandy Bridgett, Patricia Nguyen, Tracy Wilson, Shannon Beaudin, and his half siblings-in-law, Cherie Heath and Charles Heath.

He also leaves behind his beloved nieces: Breanna, Shannon, Jennarae, Courtney, and Christie; and his nephews: Easton, Shane, Nicholas, Shawn, Sheyenne, and Tanner; along with nine great-nieces and nephews, and many adoptive and foster nieces and nephews who were blessed to know his love and guidance. He is further survived by many aunts, uncles, extended family members, and dear friends who became family.

Adam formed deep, lasting connections throughout his life and was considered family by many. His friendships were marked by years of shared memories, laughter, heartfelt conversations, and unwavering support.

In his final weeks, he remained close to home, surrounded by care, comfort, and the people who loved him most.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date to honor and remember Adam.

Adam's presence, his laughter, and the love he so freely gave will live on in the many lives he touched. He will be deeply missed.
