Aleta Jane Robinson, 86, of Mathias, WV passed away October 23, 2025 at her home.
She was born June 13, 1939 in Mathias to the late Guyser Ernest and Mary Lena Snider Caldwell.
Jane was a Registered Nurse for almost 15 years at R.M.H. She had also worked as an outreach worker and bookkeeper for Eastern WV Community Action. She was a member of Mathias Brethren Church since 1951. She served as church treasurer for 35 years. She also served as a Sunday School superintendent, a teacher, a deaconess, and served on the ministerial committee. She was the Hardy County Typing II winner in 1956, typing 113 words per minute on a royal/manual typewriter. She raised 6 children with God's help and family support. She also raised chickens.
Jane is survived by her three sons, Andrew L. Robinson of Harrisonburg, Jay E. Robinson (Lisa) of Harrisonburg, Benjamin A. Robinson (Kay) of Mathias; three daughters, Janice E. Dean of Strasburg, Laura Ann Orndorff (Dixon) of Wardensville, WV, Susan Jane Robinson of Penn Laird; one sister, Nancy Etta Zirk (James) of Linville; one sister-in-law; Patricia Caldwell of Harrisonburg; one granddaughter, Lindsay Dean Bottiny (Jeffrey) of Stephens City; one grandson, Jason G. Dean of Linville; great granddaughters, Liriel Dean and Rosalie Bottiny; great grandsons, Jeffrey S. Bottiny, Jr. , Payton Dean; two step great granddaughters, Evey Bottiny, Lillian Bottiny; and a special family friend, Stephanie Frye of Penn Laird.
She was preceded in death by a brother; William Arthur Caldwell and two sisters; Mary Martha Simmers Good, Margaret Joan Yancey.
Pastor Lane Turner will conduct a funeral service Sunday 2:00 PM at Mathias Brethren Church. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mathias.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM on Saturday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mathias Brethren Church, 38 Brethren Church Drive, Mathias, WV 26812; or Cedar Hill Cemetery, c/o Glenn Mathias, 14753 S.R. 259, Mathias, WV 26812.
