Obituary

Anita Hess Heath, 93, of Broadway, passed away peacefully in her sleep January 27, 2025 at Timberview Crossing in Timberville.

She was born February 8, 1931 in Fulks Run and was a daughter to the late John P. and Grace Riggleman Hess.

Anita had a friendly personality and enjoyed cooking and sharing a good dinner with her family.  She enjoyed gardening and looking after her dog, Meisha.  She was also a Christian woman who attended Christ Fellowship Church in Timberville prior to becoming ill.

On March 27, 1976 she married James Steven Heath, who preceded her in death on July 27, 2010.

She is survived by her daughter; Suzanne S. Boyer and husband Bill, of Broadway, her son; William M. Shirley, of Broadway, her grandchildren; Austin Pacher, III, of FL, Victoria Haynes, of Williamsburg and her great grandchildren; Peyton, Nolan and Laurel.

She was preceded in death by three siblings; Virginia Leonard, Betty Gier, Edwin "Bub" Hess.

Pastor Sandra Cave will conduct a graveside service 11:30 AM Saturday, February 1 at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Fulks Run.

A celebration of Anita's life will be held at 1 PM following the graveside service at 3136 Construction Lane in Broadway.

Friends may visit Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway on Friday from 9 AM- 7 PM to sign a guestbook.

Memorial contributions may be made to in Anita's memory to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
