Arthur "Larry" Lawrence Atwood II, 75 of Timberville passed away June 23, 2025 at his residence.

He was born February 17, 1950 in Shenandoah Co. to the late Dwight Earl and Julia Anita Crist Atwood.

Larry retired after 20 years of service in the United States Air Force where he was stationed several different bases, including Langley, Japan, South Carolina, Alaska, Georgia, and Egypt. He later worked for Aero Service in Winchester and later for himself as an aircraft mechanic.  Larry was quiet, calm, and reserved, he enjoyed working in his garage doing different mechanical work teaching his children and grandchildren how to work on things on their own.

On September 29, 1972 he married the former Melanie Jinx Hollingsworth, who survives.

Also surviving is a son, Arthur L. "Trey" Atwood III and wife Michelle of Rockingham; daughter, Teresa Lynne Atwood Morgan and husband Todd G. of Broadway; grandchildren, Kristen, Kayla, Alyssa, Mason Atwood, Sidney Atwood Watson and husband Zack, Christian Morgan and fiancé Katie Thomas, Blake Morgan and wife Katrina Martin-Morgan; great grandchildren, Zhavia Atwood, Lillian Atwood, James Watson, Luca Morgan; a brother, Richard E. Atwood and wife Betty of FL; brother in law, Lee Miller; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Miller.

Per his wishes his body was cremated.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel.  The family will receive friends following the service.
