Avis Priest Lantz, 97 of Timberville VA, passed away on July 22, 2024 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab. in Harrisonburg VA.

She was born on May 26, 1927 in Criders, Virginia to the late Sammuel and Virginia Sites Halterman.

Avis worked for many years at Wampler Hatchery in Bridgewater VA. She was very family oriented, and her family was her life.

In 1948, she married her first husband, Howard R. Priest, who preceded her in death in 1975. In 1977 she married her second husband, Earnel Lantz, who preceded her in death in 1993.

Avis is survived by daughters; Virginia Dove and husband Montgomery of Timberville, Sheila Runion and husband Dwayne of Broadway, special niece Betty Albright Priest of Timberville, grandchildren, Christopher Runion, Dawn Cullers, Chasidy Cyrus, great grandchildren, River Cyrus, Sky Phillips, Autumn Cyrus, Kent Cullers II, Dillon Cullers, and numerous other nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husbands, she was also preceded in death by seven siblings.

All services will be private and there will be no services at Grandle Funeral Home.
