Obituary

Barbara Ann Mitchell, 76, of Broadway, passed away on November 28, 2025, at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville, following a brief illness with cancer.

She was born September 21, 1949 in Harrisonburg and was a daughter to the late Frances Turner.

Barbara had worked in the accounts receivable department at C.F. Sauer in Richmond.  She was a member of Cedar Run Church of the Brethren in Broadway and was also a 1967 graduate of Harrisonburg High School.

On July 6, 1968 she married Charles E. Mitchell, who survives.

Also surviving is a daughter; Michele Gibson and husband Jon, of Timberville, two stepbrothers; Wesley Ringgold, of Harrisonburg, Jimmy Ringgold, of Staunton, a sister-in-law; Linda Connolly, of Marlboro, MA, a brother-in-law; Richard Mitchell, of Gloucester and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather; Paul Ringgold, stepbrothers; Bobby Ringgold, Kenny Ringgold and stepsister; Norma Nelson.

Pastor Ken Fox will conduct a graveside service 11:00 AM on Friday at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
