Bettie Ilene Hornick, 87, of Timberville, passed away March 20, 2024 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab.

She was born on January 31, 1937 in Elkins WV, to the late James Edward and Flossie Mae Oxley Morgan.

Bettie worked for Rockingham County School System as a bus driver for many years.

On May 2, 1954, she married Dempsey Junior Hornick, who preceded her in death on March 27, 1995.

She is survived by daughters; Virginia Mae Gingerich of Kansas, Yadorha K. Pool of Broadway, Nina Coira of Grottoes; sons,  Allen Hornick of Broadway, Steven Hornick of Fulks Run; multiple grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters, Paula Snyder of TX, Charlotte Elbon of WV, Linda Cole of WV; numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents she is preceded in death by a son, Roger Hornick, sister, Shirley Varner and brother Wayne Morgan.

A graveside service will be held on Monday March 25, 2024 at 2:00 pm at the Timberville Cemetery in Timberville.

There will be no services at the Grandle Funeral Home, and the casket will be closed.
