Betty Lou Siever, 77, passed away on July 12, 2026, at Sentara RMH Medical Center, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born October 11, 1948, in Rockingham County, Virginia, Betty was the beloved daughter of Angus Woodrow and Lucy Viola May Siever.

She was raised in Criders, Virginia, alongside her nine brothers and sisters, where she developed the values of hard work, kindness, and caring for others that would define her life.

Betty resided in Criders with her best friend and Sister, Phyllis "Pat" Dove and nephew.

Betty dedicated many years of service to H.D. Lee Company, Hartz & Co., Wampler Foods, Pilgrim's Pride, and 7-Eleven. In 2016, she retired and treasured the opportunity to spend more time with her grandchildren and family.

She will be remembered for her tireless work ethic, generous heart, and unwavering willingness to lend a helping hand. Whether caring for a loved one, helping with a project, sharing a conversation, or simply being there when someone needed her, Betty found her greatest joy in caring for others.

She also found happiness in life's simple pleasures: a good cup of coffee each morning, time with her grandchildren, puzzles, word searches, and ending the day with a Hershey's Kiss.

She is survived by two sons, Nathan Siever (Mary Ellen) of Timberville, Chad Siever (Amber) of Broadway; siblings, Jerry Wayne Siever of Powells Point, NC  , Kathryn "Bunnie" Reese of Hinton, Phyllis "Pat" Dove; grandchildren, Nathaniel Siever (Ashli), Morgan Keener (Martin), Natalee Townsend, Nayomi Siever, Neilan Siever; great grandchild, Jameson and a little girl on the way;  special niece, Judy Shoemaker of Broadway; special nephew, Heath "Peachy" Dove of Criders; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Allen Woodrow "Bus" Siever, Norma Fay "Sis" Crider, Robert "Bob" Siever, Edward "Eddie" Siever, Roger Lee Siever, Linda Sue Grandstaff.

In her final hours, Betty shared one simple message: "Make sure you help take care of each other." Those words perfectly reflected the life she lived and the legacy she leaves behind.

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, July 24, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Grandle Funeral Home, 148 East Lee St., Broadway, VA 22815.

A fellowship potluck and memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2026, 12:45 p.m. -2:45 p.m. at the Bergton Recreation Center, 17784 Criders Road, Bergton, VA. A small graveside service at Caplinger Cemetery in Criders will immediately follow.

In lieu of flowers, please bring a potluck dish to the fellowship dinner, or donations may be made to the Bergton Volunteer Rescue Squad and/or Rockingham County Fire & Rescue.
