Brenda Louise Hottinger, 70, of New Market, died December 9, 2023 at Life Care Center of New Market.

She was born April 25, 1953 in Alexandria, VA and was a daughter to the late Marvin and Hazel Sellers Diamond.

Brenda retired from housekeeping at JMU and was a member of Brighter Day Bible Church in Mt. Jackson.

On June 26, 1971 she married Gary Hottinger, who preceded her in death on October 26, 2022.

Surviving her are three daughters; Timley Simmons, of Rockingham, Melissa Runion, of Edinburg, Amanda Morris, of Mt. Crawford, eight grandchildren; Megan Scott, Emily Simmons, Chase Simmons, Alexia Weaver, Drake Lawson, Lillian Lawson, Madison Simmons, Kaylee Weaver, two great grandchildren; Caroline Simmons, Chase Aaron Simmons, Jr., and a brother; Marvin Diamond, Jr., of Arlington.

She was preceded in death by a brother; Richard L. Roach.

Pastor Larry Rinard will conduct a funeral service 2 PM Wednesday at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway.  Burial will follow at Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery in New Market.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
