Buddy Ray Walton, 83, of Timberville, VA passed away February 15, 2024 at Timberview Crossing in Timberville.
He was born August 8, 1940 in Rockingham County to the late Charles L. and Ruth Wean Walton.
Buddy had worked at J.O. Stickley and Sons, Rams Supply, Agri of Virginia, Randy's Do it Best and drove a school bus for Rockingham County. He was a Vietnam Air Force veteran, and a member of Timberville Church of the Brethren. Buddy loved basketball, baseball and NASCAR with Bobby Allison being his favorite driver. He was a life member of both the Timberville Fire Department and the Broadway Rescue Squad for 50 plus years.
On October 15, 1960 he married the former Myrtle Moore, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Tim Walton and wife Diana of Timberville, Dwight Walton and wife Theresa of Timberville; three grandchildren, Stephanie Walton Sents and husband Eric of Arizona, Whitney Walton Sperry and husband Justin of Timberville, Zachary Walton and wife Tara of McGaheysville; 10 great grandchildren, Anna Grace Sents, Addison Ruth Sents, Avery Lynn Sents, Audrey Jean Sents, Aubree Nicole Sperry, Bentley Ray Martin Sperry, Harper Virginia Sperry, Beckham Charles Sperry, Hudson Allen Walton, Crew Maddox Walton; one sister, Nancy Walton Drury of Broadway, brother-in-law; Daniel F. Moore and wife Betty of Missouri; nieces and nephews; Ramona, Darren, Tommy, Wayne, Mike, Robbie, and his dog; Tiny.
He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law; Tom Drury.
Pastor's Vic Norris and Karl Magenhofer will conduct a funeral service 11:00 AM Tuesday at Timberville Church of the Brethren. Burial with military honors by Dayton American Legion Post # 27 will be in the Rader Lutheran Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Monday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. Friends may pay their respects and sign a guest book beginning Sunday at 9 AM.

The family would like to thank the staff of Timberview Crossing and Sentara Hospice for the wonderful care and help in keeping him comfortable.
