Carolyn Faye Umbarger, 78, of New Market, VA passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, October 19, 2023 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

She was born October 24, 1944 in Harrisonburg to the late Paul Timothy and Helen Virginia Fox Rhinehart.

Carolyn graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School in 1963.  She retired from the Division of Motor Vehicles with 28 years of service.

Surviving are her daughters, Melinda Long (Jeff) of Harrisonburg, Gina Eaton (Travis) of New Market; one son, Travis Umbarger of New Market; one brother, Gary (Pee Wee) Rhinehart, Sr. of New Market; four grandchildren, Tiffany Freeman, Ashley Pence, Austin Corral, Tyler Eaton; and one great grandchild, Branch Freeman.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Janice Ballard; and brothers, Jim Rhinehart, Jerry Rhinehart, Donnie Rhinehart, and Kenny Rhinehart.

The family will receive friends from 3 – 5 PM Sunday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
