Obituary

Charles Allen Harrison, 74, of Broadway VA, passed away January 19, 2026 at his residence.

He was born on December 3, 1951 in Harrisonburg VA, to the late Julian and Alva Phillips Harrison.

Charles graduated from Broadway High School class of 1970 where he played baseball. He went on to serve in the Navy from 1971-1975 on the USS Independence and Intrepid. He was a member of the Mayland Christian Church. He worked for Harrison Farms for 40 plus years before retiring. After retiring he drove a transportation van for Rockingham County Public Schools and loved and enjoyed those kids. Charles played softball for Sportsmen, coached baseball, softball, and basketball for his son and granddaughter's Broadway Little League teams. He loved watching sports, fishing, hunting and camping but his greatest joy was his family and two granddaughters.

On March 26, 1977 he married the former Nancy Harris, who survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Brandy Baker and husband Greg; son, Michael Harrison; granddaughters, Brielle Baker, Carter Harrison; sisters, Susan Harrison, Karen Harrison; brother, Kenneth Harrison and wife Sharrie; numerous nieces and nephews; half-sisters, Beverley Humphrey, Barbara Douglass; sister in laws, Mary Johnson and husband Billy, Linda Decker and husband Scott; brother-in-law, Steve Prater.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, Ronald Harrison; sister, Kimberly Harrison Prater; brother-in-law, James Harris; mother-in-law Virginia Harris and father- in- law June Harris.

Pastor James Robbins will conduct a funeral service 2:00 P.M. Friday at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway. Burial will follow at the Bethel Church of the Brethren cemetery in Mayland.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
