Charles Lindberg
Miller
Jun 28, 1954 — Mar 2, 2026
Luray
Charles Lindberg Miller, 71, of Luray, VA passed away March 2, 2026 at Blue Ridge Care in Winchester.
He was born June 28, 1954 in Needmore, WV to the late Ray and Viola Combs Miller.
For over 40 years he proudly served as an Orchard Manager at Bowman Orchard, dedicating his life to tending the trees through every season from the first blossom of the spring to the final harvest of fall. He poured his heart into his work. The orchards he cared for stand as a living testament to his dedication.
Charles was a true outdoorsman at heart, finding his greatest peace in the quiet of the woods and along the riverbank. Whether casting a line or heading out to hunt the biggest buck, he felt most at home in nature. The outdoors wasn't just a hobby for him—it was a way of life. He was a member of the Fall Bush Hunt Club and the Heritage Hunt Club.
Above all else his grandkids were his greatest harvest, and he never missed an opportunity to brag about them. Nothing brought him more pride than watching them grow, teaching them how to bait a hook, track a deer, or appreciate the simple joys of being outside.
On November 6, 1991 he married the former Cindy McDorman who survives.
Also surviving are his children, Ashley Robinson of Edinburg, Amber Robinson (Tyree) of Timberville, B.J. McDorman of Broadway (Tabitha); grandchildren, Lauren, Cooper, Jackson, Myles, Gavin, Silas, Lennix; one sister, Ruth Miller of Baker, WV; stepbrother, Charles Combs of Kentucky; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Charles was preceded in death by five brothers, Lawrence, Ike, Gerald, Lester, James Miller; and two sisters, Beatrice and Pauline Miller.
Pastor Glen Turner will conduct a memorial service 2:00 PM Saturday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 PM, prior to the memorial service at Grandle Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 West Cork Street, #405. Winchester, VA 22601.
