David Albert Schweikardt, 85, of Broadway, VA passed away July 3, 2024, at Willow Estates in Penn Laird.

He was born August 4, 1938, in Lackawanna, New York, to the late Albert H. and Luella Rater Schweikardt.

David had worked part-time at Lowes. He retired from RR Donnelley and had previously worked at Walker Manufacturing  He was a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran.

In July, 1967 he married the former Leona Edith Houser, who preceded him in death November 9, 2017.

Surviving are three step-sons, John Tate and wife Amy of Columbia, SC, Alex Roberts and wife Laura of Columbia, SC, Randy Roberts and wife Kelly of Broadway; two step-grandchildren, Zachary Roberts and wife Lacey, Grace Warlitner and husband Chad; step- great grandchildren Tyce, Cain, Laurel, Maggie, Aayden and Oliver; and a special cousin, Julie Dersham of Campbell, NY.

Pastor Mike Shenk will conduct a memorial service 2:00 PM Saturday, July 13th at Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway.  Burial will be in Linville Creek Cemetery.  His body was cremated.
