Debra Lynn Cody, 68, of Timberville, died July 18, 2025 at INOVA Loudoun Hospital in Leesburg.

She was born December 28, 1956 in Akron, OH and was the daughter of Sheila Ann Mitchell Gibson of Thomasville, GA and the late Phillip Forbes Gibson.

Debi enjoyed going to car shows and was a member of the Country Cruisers club.  She enjoyed fishing and being outdoors.  She had a deep love for animals, believing every living creature deserved a kind hand and a compassionate heart.  Debi found joy in her family, the beauty of plants, the power of music, and the shared bond of being a traditional family rock enthusiast.  Debi never met a stranger; her kindness, laughter and love touched everyone that she met.

Surviving her including her mother are a son; William Scott Cody and wife Michelle, of Keezletown, granddaughter; Kendra Faith Cody, of Broadway, grandson; Kyle Scott Cody, of Keezletown, her boyfriend; Ray Harlon Coffey, Jr., of Castleton, VA, two brothers; Rick Hollingsworth and wife Alicia, of Spring, TX, Kevin Hollingsworth and wife Unhui, of Williamsburg, VA and two sisters; Terri McCord and husband Millard, of Havana, FL, Tammy Gibson, of Monroe, GA.

She was preceded in death by a brother; Mark Hollingsworth.

Pastor Scott Budde will conduct a memorial service at 11 AM on Saturday, August 9 at Mt. Carmel United Brethren in Christ Church in Fulks Run, VA.  A memorial service will also take place in October in Havana, FL.

Her body will be cremated and there will not be any services at the funeral home.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
