Dr. Dlemar Roy Shoemaker Sr., 78, of Broadway passed away April, 12, 2025 at his residence.

He was born December 13, 1946 in Lost City, WV to the late Glenn Biller, Mamie May Shoemaker.

Delmar was the president of the Freelandia Bible College and minister of the Freelandia Bible Church in Broadway. He was also the former owner of Delmar's TV & Electronics in Palmyra, PA.

On March 11, 1966 he married the former Ellen Elizabeth Strawderman who survives.

Also surviving are sons, Delmar Shoemaker, Jr. and wife Melanie of Mathias, WV, Matt Shoemaker and wife Tiffany of Whitesville, NC; grandchildren, Brianna Clark, Steven Shoemaker, Rachael Blaser, Megan Winters; great grandchildren, Adalynn Blaser, Alaina Winters; 42 foster children; sister, Shirley Whetzel of Strasburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Shoemaker; brother, Ward Shoemaker.

Rev. Charles Dingledine will conduct a funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.  Burial will follow at the Cedar Hill Cemetery in Mathias.

The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service.
