Derik Wayne
Lamb
Apr 28, 1981 — Jun 29, 2026
Timberville
Derik Wayne Lamb, 45, of Timberville, Virginia passed away on June 29, 2026 at VCU Medical Center in Richmond, Virginia.
Born on April 28, 1981, Derik was the son of Connie Lamb and the late Timmy Lamb.
He was employed in the Wastewater Department at Pilgrim's Pride in Timberville and was a graduate of Broadway High School.
Derik will be remembered as the best brother and uncle, and for loving his family immensely. He was an avid San Francisco 49ers fan who never missed watching a game. He wore his heart on his sleeve, was always willing to help anyone in need. He never wavered from who he was. Firm in his beliefs, he did not judge others but instead accepted everyone he met just the way they were.
He was never one to chase the riches of the world, though he did enjoy taking a chance on the lottery from time to time. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures – a 7-Eleven hot dog, leisurely drives around town, and spending time with those who meant most to him. His quick wit will be cherished by all who knew him. He always had a witty comment ready to lighten the mood, and even in his final days, he continued bringing smiles to those around him.
His grandmother, Patsy Caplinger, was his person – his source of strength, refuge, and light through life's struggles – and he remained forever grateful for her unwavering love and support. Above all, he found reliance in his faith. He loyally read his daily devotional and leaned on the Lord for strength, guidance, and peace.
Along with his mother, he is survived by his devoted sister, Cassie Diaz(Rony) of New Market; grandmother, Patsy Caplinger of Timberville; two nieces, Bianca and Elizabeth, nephew Rony Wayne; half-sister, Katherine Noelle Boal; half- brother, Jeremy Shelton; step siblings, Kyle Johns, Jamie Johns, Tylor Lantz; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins who will remember him fondly.
In addition to his father, Derik was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Archie Caplinger and Lester Lamb; and grandmother, Ellen Weakley Lamb.
Derik's kindness, steadfast faith, and genuine heart will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
