Donald Wayne Dellinger, 80, of Timberville, VA went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2026 at Sentara RMH, surrounded by his family.
Don was born January 2, 1946 in Shenandoah County, to the late Robert Felix Dellinger, Sr. and Iva Biller Dellinger Tusing.
Don worked in construction for most of his life. He was a jack of all trades. He loved to go and listen to music and dance the night away. Most of all he loved spending time with his family. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Broadway and attended Woods Chapel Church in New Market.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jackie Waybright Dellinger on December 1, 2023.
Don is survived by his sons, Carl Dellinger (Dawn), Kevin Dellinger (Angie), Keith Dellinger (Megan); his beloved dog "Taco"; one sister, Christine Taylor; one brother, David Dellinger; a special grandson, Wesley Dellinger whom he loved dearly; 8 other grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and 3 great great grandchildren.
Don was preceded in death by his son, Donald Wayne Dellinger, Jr.; sisters, Phyllis Halterman, Luella See, Virginia Dove, Ruby Dellinger, Faye Whitmer; brothers, James, Floyd, Clovis, Bobby and Robert Dellinger; and an infant girl.
Pastors Willie Hottinger and Glen Turner will conduct a graveside service 2:00 PM Sunday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Broadway.
The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 PM Saturday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Area 4 Special Olympics, 21 South Gate Court, Suite 103, Harrisonburg, VA 22801; or Shenandoah County Relay for Life, P.O. Box 4110, Glen Allen, VA 23058.
A special thank you to Faye Reedy who was his caregiver and never left his side. We can never thank you enough.
