Dorcas Juanita Barb Hollenweger, 83, of Broadway, VA passed away April 22, 2024, at her residence.

She was born August 28, 1940, in Bayse, VA to the late Harry Lee and Edith Rebecca Barb.

Dorcas graduated from Triplett High School in 1959, and from Warren Wilson College in 1961.  She worked at Mt. Sinai Hospital in Yonkers, NY through the late '80s.  She then worked in the nursing field at numerous places.  She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.

On June 29, 1985, she married George Hollenweger, Jr., who preceded her in death January 10, 2008.

Dorcas is survived by siblings, Sudie Whitacre of Mt. Jackson, Delma Ireland of Prattville, AL, Edna Turner of Broadway; sisters-in-law, Gloria Barb of Edinburg, Bonnie Barb of Mt. Jackson; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and other extended family.

She was preceded in death by siblings, William Barb, Linwood Barb, Berlin Barb, Lelia Floretta Barb Slama, Helen Barb Small; half siblings, Evryn Barb, and Nellie Olson.

Pastor Donnie Owen will conduct a memorial service 4:00 PM Sunday at Broadway Baptist Church.  The body was cremated.
