Doris Jean May, 79, formerly of Mathias, WV passed away October 9, 2024 at Complete Care of Hagerstown, MD.

Doris was born March 13, 1945 to the late Garrett Donovan and Bertha Crawford Ramsey.

She had worked at the poultry plant for several years, and then became a homemaker after marrying the love of her life John Edward May.  They divorced after many years of marriage.  Doris will be remembered for her kindness and her beautiful smile.

Doris is survived by her two children, Sherry Lynn Hose and husband Randy of Moorefield, WV, John Edward May, Jr. and wife Melissa Suellen May of Mathias, WV; siblings, Bob Donovan and wife Elaine of Singers Glen, Shirley Ryman and husband Nelson of Melrose, Judy Lam and husband Bob of Blackstone, VA; grandchildren, Jessica Tusing and husband Codie of Mathias, Damian Hose, Lindsey Hose, Seth Hose, Abel Hose, all of Moorefield, Tapanga May , Aubrey May, Hunter May, all of Mathias; great grandchildren, Bentley, Brodie, and Buckley Tusing, Aaliyah Hose.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Dick Donovan; and one sister, Nancy Donovan.

There will be a viewing from 9 AM – 7 PM Sunday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
