Edward Lee Stroop, 77, of Quicksburg, died August 6, 2023 at his home.

He was born April 26, 1946 in Rockingham County and was a son to the late Clarence Edward and Jeanette Elizabeth Garber Stroop, Sr.

Edward was a self employed mechanic for E&P Auto.  He attended Faith Baptist Church in Broadway.

On March 9, 2007, he married the former Pamela Custer, who survives.

Also surviving are seven children; Amy Stalbird (Randy), of Timberville, Tonya Hamrick, of Woodstock, Anthony Hamrick, of Woodstock, Crystal Stroop, of Harrisonburg, Brandon Stroop (Tiffany), of Woodstock, Brandi Wilson (Amanda Mason), of Mt. Jackson, Cody Wilson (Michelle Lutz), of Mt. Jackson, eight grandchildren; Megan Stalbird, of Timberville, Lindsey and Levi Hamrick, of Woodstock, Lacey, Ayden and Saryna Stroop, of New Market, Lyla and Logan Wilson, of Mt. Jackson, and two sisters; Virginia Spitzer, of Grottoes, Peggy Lam, of Penn Laird.

He was preceded in death by four brothers; Clarence Stroop, Jr., Carl Stroop, Stanley Stroop, Roger Dale Stroop, and one sister; Anne.

Pastor Kevin Gerber will conduct a graveside service Wednesday 3 PM at Flat Rock Cemetery near Mt. Jackson.

The casket will be closed and there will not be any services at the funeral home.
