Gary Nash Drummond, Sr., 77 went to be with the lord June 22 at Sentara Medical Center.

Gary was born on June 15, 1949 to the late Naylor Sr. & Violette Brock Drummond.

Before retiring, he worked for many years at Rockingham Poultry and later Andros. Gary never knew a stranger, and he always enjoyed "catching up" with his many friends whenever he saw them. He was quite the car enthusiast and enjoyed "trying out" the latest vehicle that caught his eye. Gary was a member of Independent Community Church and greatly enjoyed the fellowship & attending every Sunday.

Gary is survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Eva Hassenpflug. They were united in marriage on June 1, 1966. They celebrated this milestone recently with their children and grandchildren with a trip to OBX and a camping trip to Lake Anna.

Also surviving are two daughters; Bonnie Davis (Elmer), & Diana Miller (Philip), one son; Gary Drummond, Jr.   Granddaughters; Shawna Messerley, Shayla Burkett, Chelsi Barb & Destiny Drummond. Grandsons; Dakota Drummond & Colton Barb. Great grandchildren; (who he enjoyed spoiling even more than the grandchildren!!) Autumn Messerley, Shane Messerley & Violette Hottinger. One brother; Dwight Drummond. his beloved dogs; Jake & Chloe.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by a brother; Naylor Drummond, Jr.

His body was cremated.

Pastor Richard Delawder will conduct a memorial service 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 11 at the Independent Community Church near Singers Glen.

The family will receive friends Friday June 26 from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
