Gina Catherine
Maggio
Jan 2, 1981 — May 27, 2023
Harrisonburg
Gina Catherine Maggio, Age 42, passed peacefully in her home in Harrisonburg, VA, surrounded by her loved ones on May 27, 2023.
Gina was born January 2nd , 1981 in Fairfax, VA. She graduated from Liberty University in 2013 with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. She had recently been accepted and began working on her master's from James Madison University, where she also worked in Human Resources for over 10 years. One of Gina's passions was helping others, and her position allowed for that opportunity, even while at work.
Being a mom to Jackson was her greatest joy. She was patient and kind, and dedicated to motherhood, always putting him before herself. Gina met her partner, Chris in 2021, and had never felt more loved and cherished. They both renewed each other's faith in love and true partnership. She was a treasured friend by many, always willing to lend a hand and jump in to help without being asked and would have her friends laughing during the process. She taught those around her to love one another and wouldn't hesitate to say "love you" when departing.
She had the most generous, kind heart, and touched many lives with her presence. Gina especially loved going to the beach, camping and spending time with family. She also enjoyed music and concerts of many genres, gardening, baking, being outdoors, roller skating, and a good laugh with her friends. She volunteered with Cats Cradle, a local rescue organization, and would affectionately care for homeless cats and kittens, until they were adopted.
She is survived by her beloved son, Jackson Schulte, her partner Christopher (and his daughters Sia and Alice) House, her Mother Robin (and Michael) DalPezzo, her Father Charles (and Donna) Maggio, her sisters Aimee (and Tony Manson) Maggio and Jillian Maggio, her Grandmother Wanda Gail Yates, her Aunts Sharon (and Phillip) Lebowitz, Kathy Cole, Sharon Hughes, Martha (and Steve) Boyer, her Uncles Michael (and Rosemary Urban) Maggio, Randy (and Robin) Pack and Kyle (and Davia) Pack, her Nieces Abigail Manson and Ava Manson. She is also survived by numerous Cousins, Great Aunts, Great Uncles and Many Friends.
She was preceded in death by her Grandmother Gloria Maggio, her Grandfathers Joseph Maggio and Harold Pack, and her Aunt Cleva Maggio.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, who adored her with all their hearts.
The family will receive friends on June 10 th from 1-3pm at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway,VA. The memorial service will follow, at 3pm.
