Glenna Rosalie Rhoads, 93, of Broadway, VA passed away July 27, 2026 at her residence.

She was born on December 14, 1932 in Mathias, WV to the late Perry and Lona Shipe Whetzel.

Glenna was a devoted homemaker and loving mother who found joy in caring for her family and those around her. She enjoyed sewing, crafting, and keeping busy, whether she was browsing thrift stores, hunting for rocks, or spending time camping. Glenna also loved cooking, gardening, and canning.  She was a member of Independent Community Church in Linville.  Glenna spent part of her working life as a machine operator at Manville Roofing.

On November 20, 1971 she married Charles Rhoads who survives.

Glenna is also survived by her son, Bruce Dove and wife Yvette, two daughters, Althea Cave and Theresa Lawhorne; 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 6 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Lenora Whetzel; special friend, Loretta Dispanet; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jason Whetzel; her sister and brother-in-law Ilene and Robert Nemeth; and one grandson.

Pastor Richard Delawder will conduct a memorial service Saturday, August 8th at 11:00 AM at Independent Community Church.  (11587 Turleytown Rd. Linville VA 22834)

Per Glenna's request, she was cremated.
