Goldie Ruth Combs, 95, of Broadway, died October 4, 2024 at her home.

She was born December 25, 1928 in Bergton, VA and was a daughter to the late Elmer H. and Clara See Dove.

She had retired from Byrd Packaging Shed.

On May 30, 1960 she married James Franklin Combs, who preceded her in death on July 10, 1970.

Surviving are three daughters; Jean Ritchie, Frances Combs, Esther Custer, five sons; Alton Dove, Jack Dove, Jerry Dove, David Combs, Gary Combs, three stepchildren; Ethel Fitzwater, Mary Jane Hubbard, Loretta Foster, 12 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Preceding her in death were three children; Ellen Crider, Marvin Dove, Dennis Combs, eight siblings; Olin, Ivan, Herb and Warren Dove, Pauline May, Irene Whetzel, Betty Strawderman, Edna Crider and three stepchildren; Franklin Combs, Carl Combs, Richard Combs.  Goldie was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Pastor Mike Shenk will conduct a graveside service Wednesday 2 PM at Martin Luther Lutheran Cemetery in Bergton.

There will not be any services at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
