Harold "Doc" Preston Ritchie, 82, of Criders, passed away on  May 7, 2026 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab.

He was born on March 21, 1944 in Rockingham County to the late Otis and Daphna May Ritchie.

Doc worked for Holtzman Inc. as a propane driver.

He married the former Betty Lou Shipe, who preceded him in death on June 12, 2024.

Surviving are his daughter, Sheila Reedy of Criders; granddaughter, Sarah Burkett and husband, Chris, of Criders, and two great-granddaughters, Kairi and Whitley Burkett.

His body will be cremated, and the service will be private.
