Harry Edward "Eddie" Hutchens, 83, of Broadway passed away December 14, 2023 at his residence.

He was born June 24, 1940 in Staunton to the late Harry Earl and Katherine Hemp Hutchens.

Eddie most recently drove for Rockingham Co. Public Schools.  He was an active member at the Linville Creek Church of the Brethren where he loved to be worship leader and he also sang in the choir.  Eddie loved music, University of Virginia sports, the Philadelphia Eagles, and the New York Yankees, and to hunt and fish.

On December 27, 1969 he married the former Joan Reid, who survives.

Also surviving are daughters, Stacie Holzberger and husband Paul of Charles Town, WV, Kimberly Price and husband Ryan of Lacey Spring; grandchildren, Kara Baker, Margaret Holzberger, Allison Holzberger, Sophia Holzberger, Reid Price, Ryder Price; and his favorite dogs, Bandit and Snuggles.

Eddie's wishes were to be cremated.

Rev. Nathan Hollenberg will conduct a funeral service 2:00 P.M. Thursday, December 21st at the Linville Creek Church of the Brethren in Broadway. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends following the services at the church.
