Harvey Lee Ankers, Jr., 89, of Timberville, VA, passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at home.

He was born August 26, 1936, in Fairfax, VA, to the late Harvey Lee and Bertha Tusing Ankers.

Harvey was a heavy machine operator at Trumbo Electric for over 30 years and loved to hunt.  He was an active member of Smith Creek Baptist Church for 75 years and held the positions of deacon, trustee, treasurer, Sunday school teacher and superintendent at various times.

Married on June 5, 1961, Harvey is survived by his wife, Jean Ankers (formerly Ryman).

He is also survived by his son, Dale Lynn (Angela) Ankers, four grandchildren, Samuel (Rachel), Andrew (Tabitha), Elizabeth and Sarah, and two great grandchildren, Levi and Henry.

Pastor Brent Hockema will conduct the funeral service at 11 AM on Saturday, February 28, at Smith Creek Baptist Church, New Market.  Burial will follow at Morning Star Lutheran Cemetery in Mt. Jackson.

The visitation will be at 10 AM before the service.  The casket will be closed.
