Obituary

Herman Wesley Buhl, 91, of Timberville, died November 15, 2022 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.

He was born April 25, 1931 in Rockingham County and was the son to the late Herman Isaac and Fannie May Price Buhl.

He was a truck driver for Houff Transfer.  He was a member and deacon at Fairview Church of the Brethren near Endless Caverns.  He was a U.S. Army veteran and was also past member of the Fraternal Order of the Moose.

On August 31, 1954 he married the former Rena Mae Painter, who preceded him in death on January 19, 2005.

Surviving are two sons; Gary Wesley Buhl and wife Evelyn "Joy", of Timberville, Curtis Alan Buhl, of New Market, and four grandchildren; Vincent Buhl, of Harrisonburg, Victoria Buhl, of Timberville, Travis Buhl, of Washington, D.C., Daniel Buhl, of North Carolina.

He was preceded in death by six siblings; Mary Potter, Marjorie Driver, Elizabeth Tussing, Anna Louise Smallwood, Lorraine Blackburn, Audrey Macey.

Pastor Rob Nykamp will conduct a funeral service Saturday 2 PM at Fairview Church of the Brethren.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the church.  Friends may pay their respects on Friday from 9 AM- 7 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
