Howard L. Kennedy II, 82, of Timberville passed away December 28, 2025 at Harrisonburg Health and Rehab.

He was born November 1, 1943 and was the son of the late Howard L. and Velma Minnick Kennedy.

Howard served in the 82nd Airborne division of the US Army from 1960-1964.  He worked as a diesel mechanic for 40 years before driving a transit bus for Harrisonburg City Transit.  Howard loved his numerous four-legged babies.

In August of 1964 he married the former Mary C. Wenger who preceded him in death on September 27, 2016.

Surviving are daughters, Candy Kennedy of Timberville and Barbara Kennedy Stanley of Harrisonburg; sisters, "Mick" Cramer of Broadway, Bonnie Grey of NC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a son Robert W. "Bobby" Kennedy; grandson, Jeremy Stanley; sister, Ellie Mitchell; brothers, Carroll "Bud" Kennedy and Raymond Kennedy.

Services will be private.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway, where the casket will be closed.
