James Stewart Driver, beloved son, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home on June 5, 2026.

Born on September 1, 1967, James spent his entire life in Broadway, Virginia, a community he loved deeply and served faithfully.

He graduated from Broadway High School in 1985 and went on to earn a bachelor's degree from Virginia Tech and a Master of Business Administration from James Madison University.

James was preceded in death by his father, Jackie "Jack" Lee Driver.

He is survived by his mother, Eileen Stewart Driver, and his sister, Diane Kathleen Driver, both of Broadway, Virginia. He is also survived by several aunts, cousins, and many friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, generosity, and dedication to service.

Throughout his professional career, James was respected for his integrity, leadership, and commitment to excellence. He worked at Shentel in Edinburg, Virginia, then at Dynamic Aviation in Bridgewater, and most recently served as Controller for Trumbo Electric in Broadway.

An Eagle Scout, James, carried the values of Scouting throughout his life. He remained a devoted supporter of Scout Troop 1 and believed strongly in giving back to his community. He was a longtime member of the Broadway-Timberville Ruritan Club and an active member of Linville Creek Church of the Brethren in Broadway.

James lived a life centered on service to others. He generously shared his time and talents through numerous community and church activities, including serving for many years as a Sunday School teacher for junior and senior high youth. He believed that serving others was one of the most meaningful ways to strengthen a community and make a difference in the lives of those around him.

James will be remembered for his friendly and jovial spirit, unwavering faith, servant's heart, and deep commitment to family, church, and community. He had a warm smile, an easy laugh, and a gift for making others feel welcome. His legacy of kindness, leadership, friendship, and service will continue to inspire all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 20 at 2:00 PM at Linville Creek Church of the Brethren in Broadway.
