Obituary

John Allan Jackson, 82, of Broadway, VA passed away March 12, 2025 at Sentara RMH Medical Center.

He was born November 5, 1942 in Booneville, AR to the late Bishop Marvin and Ruth Elizabeth Stephenson Jackson.

John was a contract specialist for the U.S. Government.  He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After high school he worked in the oil fields in Saudi Arabia and Texas.   John was a member of First United Methodist Church in Broadway.  He was also a member of the Masons where he served as a  Knights Templar and Royal Arch, the Shriners, and Dayton American Legion.

On August 7, 1999 he married Lynn Menzer Knight, who survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Kevin Jackson and wife Kelly, and Jeffrey Jackson, all of Missouri; two stepsons, Richard Knight of Baltimore, MD, Travis Knight and wife Amy of Centreville; one brother, Gary Jackson and wife Sue of Missouri; one sister, Lois Wagoner of Indiana; 9 grandchildren.

Pastor Brett Isernagen will conduct a funeral service 11:00 AM Monday at First United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Linville Creek Cemetery in Broadway.

The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 4:30 PM Sunday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First United Methodist Church, 13902 Timberway, Broadway, VA  22815.
