Kathy Lynn Mongold, 70, of Broadway, VA passed away August 5, 2026 at her residence.

She was born October 19, 1955 in West Virginia to the late Houstin B. and Delma Heltzel Mongold.

Kathy worked at Pilgrim's Pride before retiring.  She had lived in Mayland for 42 years.  She was a beloved companion and a loving mom and grandmother.

Surviving are two sons, Benny Sonifrank, Jr., Buddy Sonifrank; two brothers, John Mongold, Houstin Mongold, Jr.; one sister, Eva Kay Moyer; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 31 great great grandchildren; chihuahua fur babies, Lilly and Logan; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her companion of 38 years, Benny Sonifrank; one son, Bruce Sonifrank; brother, Charlie Mongold; and sister, Carla Simmons; three grandsons; and one great great granddaughter.

Pastor Glen Turner will conduct a graveside service 2:00 PM Sunday at Trissels Mennonite Church cemetery in Broadway.

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 PM Saturday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
