Kaylie Grace Knick

On Oct 20, 2026, Kaylie Grace Knick, 15, traded her dilapidated white crocs for warrior wings. We’re pretty sure she is racing her beloved pups, Tinkerbell and Scout, through the ocean waves (hopefully, avoiding bird droppings this time).

Kaylie was born May 16, 2011, already asserting her independence, to Jen and Ethan Knick. Her loving sibling told her mother “put it back” upon learning a new baby sister had arrived. Over the next 15 years, Kaylie mastered the art of eye-rolling, curating flawless playlists, online shopping and selectively ignoring her parents’ incoming phone calls.

Though her time with us was far too short, she packed 100 years of attitude, laughter, and love into her fifteen years. She leaves behind devastated family, a deeply loyal group of best friends and boyfriend whom she loved with all her heart, as well as a bedroom floor that is still completely covered in clothes. We’re pretty sure there’s a dead mouse in her closet.

Kaylie attended Broadway High School and enjoyed numerous sports to include jump rope competitions, swimming, basketball, skateboarding, track, and wrestling. Though she vowed never to do soccer as a sock tan would ruin her aesthetic.

In her free time, Kaylie had a side hustle of lawn mowing and babysitting to muster some cash for much needed tacos from El Ranchero. If Kaylie wasn’t dreaming of fast cars or listening to Bruno Mars and sunbathing in her backyard, she could oftentimes be found at Heritage Park (saving baby kittens) or shopping at the mall (because a girl can never have enough sweatpants, make-up, or shoes).

Kaylie’s energy was infectious, and her kindness was unmatched. She had an extraordinary ability to make anyone smile, usually by telling a terrible joke or doing a goofy impression. She wanted to change the world, and in her 15 years, she completely changed ours.

Kaylie is survived by her parents Ethan and Jenny, her brother Virgil, her boyfriend Jake, best friends Riley and Chris, and a group of loyal friends who didn't snitch when she took her car for a spin in the middle of the night. She is also survived by her two nieces, Penelope and Evelyn, whom she loved dearly. Kaylie loved her family, and was loved in return.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct 24 from 5-7pm at Grandle Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life will be Sunday, Oct 25 from 1:30 to 3:30 pm at the Heritage Park Pavilion. Bring your best memories to share - and your appetite, because Mama Jen would never approve of a party without good snacks.

Kaylie’s memory will forever be cherished. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the memorial scholarship in her name: https://www.freefunder.com/campaign/kaylie-knick-memorial.
