Kermit "Wink" Gene Smith, 79 of Rockingham, VA passed away September 10, 2025 at Life Care Center of New Market VA.

He was born on January 5, 1946 in Hardy County, WV to the late Fred Austin and Nellie Fay Hinkle Smith.

Wink was a truck driver for Freeman Trucking.

On November 16, 1965 he married the former Joyce Polk who survives.

Also surviving are daughters; Michelle Dove of Criders, Teresa Coleman of Bergton, son; Delray Smith of Rockingham, grandchildren; Bradley Coleman of Bergton, Jesse Coleman of New Market, Dustin Coleman of Broadway, Nicole Buckler of New Market, Colton Smith of Fulks Run, Landon Smith of Fulks Run, 11 great grandchildren, sister; Carolyn Corbin of Keezletown.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Ann Smith and brother, Bobby Lee Smith.

Pastor Todd Thomas will conduct a Celebration of Life Saturday September 13, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Timberville Church of the Nazarene. A private graveside will be held at Mountain Valley United Methodist Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Friday from 7-8 pm at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway. The casket will be closed.
