Larry Luther Lohr, 81, of Rockingham, passed away peacefully at his residence surrounded by family and loved ones.

He was born on April 13, 1941 in Rockingham County, and was the son of the late Trovilla Herman and Lillian Rebecca Mitchell Lohr.

Larry grew up attending Melrose Church of the Brethren, and was currently a member of Pine Grove Church of the Brethren. He loved serving the Lord through gospel music, performing for over 50 years as lead singer in the Gospel Music. In the 70's, he recorded an album as the Gospel Lite Quartet, then later recorded CDs with the Redeem Gospel Quartet. He loved bowling, winning many trophies back in the 70's and 80's. He also enjoyed playing cards, camping, fishing, croquet, and watching his favorite football team, the Washington Redskins.

On May 12, 1962 he married Nancy L. Lohr who survives.

Also surviving are his sons, Jeff and wife Lisa G. Lohr, Keith and wife Lisa R. Lohr; four grandchildren, Misty Wimer and husband Jimmy, Kristan Click and husband Shane, Tara Lohr and fiancé Evan Robertson, Kaleb Lohr and wife Bethany; seven great grandchildren, Aidan Wimer, Troy Click, Cody Wimer, Cas Click, Blake Wimer, Lucy Lohr, Malcom Lohr, Richard Robinson, Onajah Robinson; one brother, Everett Lohr and wife Rosie; sister-in-law Betty Spitzer and husband Mark; and other special family members, Faye Fox, and Mary Ann Blizzard.

His brothers, Michael Lohr, his twin, Parry Lohr, Leroy Lohr; and his grandson, Christopher Lohr preceded him in death.

Rev. Linda Waggy and Jerry Shiflet will conduct a funeral service Sunday 2 PM at Pine Grove Church of the Brethren. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
