Lewis Woodson Southerly, 82, of Harrisonburg, VA passed away December 24, 2023, at Blue Ridge Nursing and Rehab Center in Harrisonburg.

Lewis was born March 19, 1941, in Rockingham County to the late Walter James and Bertha Catherine Shifflett Southerly.

He was a farmer, and a member of Mountain Valley United Methodist Church.

Surviving are three brothers, Theodore Southerly (Rosa) of Charleston, SC,  Norman Southerly (Mary) of Port Republic, Woody Southerly (Carolyn) of Harrisonburg; one sister, Margie Southerly of Grottoes; numerous nieces and nephews.

His siblings, Floyd Southerly, Louise Sites, Helen Kersey, Rosalee Shipp, James Southerly, and Vicky Riggles preceded him in death.

Pastor Guy Hudson will conduct a funeral service 11:00 AM Friday at Mountain Valley United Methodist Church.  Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens.

Friends and family may sign the guestbook from 9 AM – 7 PM Thursday at Grandle Funeral Home.

The casket will be closed.
