Lois Landis Reid Bowman, 98 of Broadway, VA passed away January 30, 2025 at Timberview Crossing in Timberville.

She was born September 4, 1926 in Rockingham County to the late Alfred and Betty Hess Landis.

Lois was a bookkeeper at Trumbo Electric.  She was a member of Linville Creek Church of the Brethren in Broadway.  She was an avid seamstress, and she loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.

On July 30, 1944 she married Mark Elwood Reid, who preceded her in death April 1, 1985.  Her second husband, John Charles Bowman, whom she married May 31, 1995 preceded her in death October 16, 1995.

Lois is survived by her daughter, Phyllis "Cookie" Verdi and husband Ed of Ijamsville, MD; one grandson, Eric Verdi and wife Susan of Ijamsville, MD; great grandsons, Anthony and Alex Verdi; companion, Dick Strawderman of Broadway; best friend, Janet Dellinger of Broadway; Scott Dellinger and Libby Krepps, whom she was like a grandmother to; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters, Melba Siever, Janice Good; and her brother, Buddy Landis.

Pastor Bill Zirk will conduct  a graveside service 2:00 PM Wednesday at Linville Creek Cemetery.

Friends and family may view and sign the guestbook from 9 AM – 7 PM Tuesday at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
