Mae Catherine Reedy, 78, of Rockingham and formerly of Timberville, died February 23, 2024 at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg.

She was born July 22, 1945 in Augusta County and was the daughter of the late Leonard and Elizabeth Thornton Wampler.

Mae was a groomer at Pet Creations in Broadway.  She was a member of the Timberville Moose Lodge and the New Market Eagles.  She loved her cats, playing Bingo, flowers, bird watching and decorating at the holidays.

On March 18, 1968 she married Ralph Linden Reedy, who preceded her in death on February 21, 2011.

Surviving is a daughter; Elizabeth Ann Yankey and husband Rickie, of Rockingham, two grandsons; Kent Yankey and wife Kayla, of Fulks Run, Eric Yankey and girlfriend Gracie Skidmore, of Timberville and one great grandson; Brantley Yankey.

She was preceded in death by a brother; Dennis Wampler.

Pastor Mike Shenk will conduct a graveside service 11 AM Wednesday at Lacey Spring Cemetery, 328 Lacey Spring Road, Lacey Spring (Rockingham), VA 22833.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway.  Friends may begin paying their respects and signing a guestbook on Tuesday at 9 AM.  The casket will be closed.
