Marie Diane Stroop, 69, of Timberville, died February 28, 2025 at Life Care Center of New Market.

She was born February 19, 1956 in Winchester and was a daughter to Gladys Heishman Sager, of New Market and the late Virgil Grant Sager.

Marie had worked in housekeeping at JMU.  She was a member of Mt. Olivet Church of the Brethren in Timberville.

Surviving her are a son; Robert Stroop and wife Mia, of Broadway, two grandchildren; Miranda Ruby and Dakota Sheppard, three great grandchildren; Raelynn, Conner and Colin Ruby, and her brother; Randy Sager and wife Marcella, of Broadway.

She was preceded in death by her companion, Raymond Gary Simmons.

Pastor's Victor Norris and Glen Turner will conduct a graveside service 2 PM Thursday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Timberville.

A memorial service will follow the graveside 3 PM Thursday at Mt. Olivet Church of the Brethren.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Mt. Olivet Church of the Brethren, 17988 N Mountain Rd Timberville, VA 22853. The casket will be closed.

There will not be any services at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
