Mary Luella Wine Deavers, 83, of Broadway went home to be with the Lord June 15, 2025.

She was born on January 6, 1942 in Rockingham Co. to the late Paul Benjamin and June Elizabeth Fravel Wine.

Over her career she worked for H.D. Lee, Tysons and Rocco hatcheries before retiring from Hartz in 2006.  In 2007 she started making jewelry, which she sold at craft shows where she began making many new friends.  Mary had started making comfort quilts for Linville Creek Church of the Brethren, which she enjoyed.  She was a member of Freedom Fellowship in Broadway.

On June 9, 1962 she married Ward Nelson Deavers who preceded her in death on April 11, 1987.

Surviving is her daughter, Angela Waggy and husband Stephen of Bridgewater; sister, Janet Bergdoll and husband Orlando "Landy"; brothers, Ernie Wine and wife Judy, Paul Wine and wife Gail; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Burial will be private.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 P.M. at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
