Mary Adeline Anders Hamblin, 88, of Lacey Springs, VA went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Moore Hamblin on May 25,1998.

Mary was born on December 21, 1936, and was the daughter of the late Glenn and Nannie Anders of Rural Retreat, VA.

She was the first of her family to graduate from High School.  Afterwards she went to work at Marion Hospital until she married on October 15, 1956.  They then moved to Harrisonburg.  She was a housewife and a farmer.  She worked at J.C. Penny's, and Big Lots.  She drove a school bus for Rockingham County Schools for a number of years. She was a member of Bethlehem United Church of Christ in Tenth Legion.

Surviving are two daughters, Norma J. Bowman (Kevin Taylor) of Lacey Springs, Sandra F. Bailey (Daniel) of Mathias, WV; two sons, Michael L. Hamblin of Lacey Springs, James C. Hamblin (Donna) of Lacey Springs; grandchildren, Keith Bowman (Wendy Morris) , Charlie Bowman (Kari), Brandy Bowman Phillips (Kyle), Joshua Bailey (Amanda), Daniel J. Bailey (Heidi), Dwight Hamblin; great grandchildren, Cory Bowman (Antonia Peraz), Isabelle Bowman, Olivia Bowman (Isaiah Rinner), Charis Phillips, Emerson Phillips, Hadley Bailey, Ivy Bailey, Chael Bailey; Mason Hamblin, Noah Hamblin; great great grandchildren, McKenzie Bowman, Beau Rinner; special family, Joe Zembo, Smiley.

Rev. Lane Turner will conduct a memorial service 2:30 PM Tuesday at Bethlehem U.C.C.  Burial at Resthaven Memorial Gardens will be private.

The family will receive friends Monday from 7 – 8:30 PM at Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.  The casket will be closed.

The family would like to especially thank Larry Moyers of Broadway for being her champion and caregiver during the last 7 months.  He not only entertained Mom, he took her on as a 2nd mother.  During her battle with cancer, he cared for all of her family members as well.  We could not have met her wishes to stay at home and be cared for without his assistance. Thank you so much.

Following the service friends are welcome to gather at Norma's home; 7824 Beacon Hill Rd. Rockingham, VA 22802, for refreshments and fellowship.
