Maybelle "Hope" Fulk Ritchie, 96, of Fulks Run, VA, died June 13, 2026 at Timberview Crossing in Timberville.

Hope was born August 3, 1929 in Fulks Run and was the daughter of the late Howard Clory and Lillie Wetsel Fulk.

Hope was a member of the Mountain Grove Church of the Brethren from a young age.  She graduated from Broadway High School in 1946 and retired as clerk/secretary from Fulks Run Elementary School after 30 years (1961-1991).

On June 18, 1948 she married Matthew Leonard Ritchie, who preceded her in death on January 3, 1993.  Two sons also preceded her in death; Allen Ray Ritchie and Daryl Bruce Ritchie.

She is survived by two granddaughters; Allison Michelle Ritchie Lunsford and husband Trevor, of Stuarts Draft, Angie Holt and husband Vince, of Baraboo, WI, two great granddaughters; Afton Lunsford, Grace Holt, a great grandson; Waylon Lunsford, two sisters; Helen Whitmer, of New Market, Joy Shiflet Simmers and husband Harold, of Broadway and special nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by four brothers; Matthew Fulk, Howard C. "Junior" Fulk, Biedler Fulk, Boyd Fulk and four sisters; Naomi Custer, Marjorie Carr, Alma Conley and Martha "Jane" Conley.

Associate Pastor Jerry Shiflet, Pastor's Lane Turner and Ricky Ritchie will conduct a funeral service 11 AM Friday at The Brethren of Mountain Grove Church in Fulks Run.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.  Those wishing to sign the guest book may do so beginning 9 AM on Thursday at the funeral home.
