McKayla Beth Miller, 24, of Lacey Spring, gained her angel wings on December 26, 2023.

She was born August 5, 1999 in Harrisonburg to Kimberly Miller Gammons, of Timberville and James Shirkey, of Timberville.

McKayla graduated from Broadway High School and loved all her residents at Timberview Crossing, where she had worked as a RMA.  She was the absolute best mommy to her babies, and they were her world.

Surviving is a stepdad; Jeremy Gammons, stepmom; Jonna Shirkey, her precious babies; Aspen and Mason, her fiancé; Austin, sisters; Whitney, Delaney, Brianna and Mady, brothers; Wade, Gage and Gavin, uncles and aunts; Dougie (Angela), Brent (Miranda), Wes, Chris, Angela Shirkey, Sam, Summer, Cousins; Icie, Kayleigh, Kylar, Beth, Hunter and Skye, maternal grandparents; Doug and Viola Miller, paternal grandparents; John Shirkey and Doris May.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 11, from 6-8 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.

Those wishing to make memorial donations, may do so for McKayla's children, Mason and Aspen Ashenfelter at Farmers and Merchants Bank, where an account will be set up through Austin Ashenfelter's and Whitney Miller's names.
