In loving memory of Michael Hopkins Smith, 61, of Broadway, who passed away February 10, 2026.

He was born November 9, 1964 in Rockingham County and was a son of the late Henry A. and Mamie Marie Fink Smith.

Michael had worked for Wampler Longacre before becoming disabled.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved animals.

Surviving are three sisters; Mary Runion, of Broadway, Joyce Mongold, of Fulks Run, JoAnn Roadcap, of Harrisonburg, Norma Oats, of Mathias, WV, a brother; Thomas Smith, of Broadway and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings, Wanda Sherman, Gloria Smith, Henry Smith, Larry Smith, Brenda Morris, Robert Smith.

Pastor Kevin Gerber will conduct a funeral service on Friday at 11:00 AM at Faith Baptist Church in Broadway.  Burial will follow at Bethel Mennonite Cemetery on Runions Creek Rd., Broadway.

The family will receive friends Thursday from 6-8 PM at Faith Baptist Church in Broadway.
