Oscar "Big O" Madison Litten, Jr., 82 of Timberville, died July 13, 2025 at his son's home in Broadway.
He was born August 12, 1942 in Harrisonburg and was a son to the late Oscar Madison and Vera May Lutz Litten, Sr.
Oscar was the owner of Rolling Hills Chevron in Harrisonburg for 40 and a half years. He enjoyed softball, hunting and had a love for FORD Broncos and the customers at the gas station, where you could find him with a cigar in hand.
On March 9, 1985 he married the former Maxine Faye Alder, who preceded him in death on August 19, 2020. His first wife, Peggy Smith Litten Carr, of Broadway, survives.
Also surviving are three sons; Brent Litten (Jewel), of Broadway, Duane Litten, of Broadway, John Litten (Kristi), of Timberville, a daughter; Sharon McAvoy (Brian), of Broadway, two stepdaughters; Faye Fox, of Rockingham, Mary Ann Blizzard, of Harrisonburg, a step-son; Joseph Hedrick (Elisabeth), of Conicville, grandchildren; Brianna Litten (Kevin Payne), Amanda Harris, Duane Litten, Jr., Kyle Litten, Hunter Litten, Jennifer Litten, Josh Litten, Britney Litten, JJ Litten, Remy Litten, Michael Runion, Richard Runion, Jason Stevens, Peggy Shifflett, numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren, sister; Gloria Crawford (Kenneth), of Broadway, uncle; Harry Lutz (Kathy), of Winchester, sister-in-law; Laura Litten, of Manassas, numerous nieces and nephews and his fur babies; Bentley, Joleen, Buckley.
He was preceded in death by a daughter; Karen Litten Beall, brother; Robert Litten, stepsons in law; Rick Blizzard and John Fox, grandson; Thomas Beall, uncles; Jiggs and Bill, and aunts; Rita and Ruby.
The family would like to send a special thank you to the following; his wonderful O's Angels Nurses; Katie, Ashland, Samantha, Krystal, Teresa, Lisa, Mary, Candy, Brenda, Robin and Tammy, two special great granddaughters; AuBreigh Litten and AmyFaye Payne for taking care of their pappy, Sabrina and Erin for all your help with pappy, Sentara Hospice and anyone else who helped out that the family may have forgotten.
Rev. Wayne Pence will conduct a funeral service at 11:00 AM Saturday at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel in Broadway. Burial will follow at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens in Harrisonburg. The family requests you please dress casual and a meal will follow at Beards and Broads in Broadway.
The family will receive friends Friday from 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to G & W Ambulance, 7819 War Branch Road, Rockingham VA 22802.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grandle Funeral Home in Broadway.
